The Co-Creation and Placemaking Programme for Heritage and Cultural Leaders
Since 2019, through CREATE PLACE, our consultants have made significant contributions to leadership programmes focused on co‑creation and placemaking in the culture and heritage sectors. They are place‑focused leadership development experiences that strengthen the skills, knowledges and networks of cultural and heritage professionals through a blend of executive‑style training, 1:1 coaching, peer learning, and practical engagement with placemaking and co‑creation approaches. The programme developed capabilities in areas such as digital innovation, cross-sector working, strategic partnership building, working with heritage assets, participatory governance, inclusion and access, and long‑term planning, while fostering strong networks across arts, cultural, health, policy and heritage organisations. We support mid‑ to senior‑level leaders in enhancing their ability to work collaboratively with communities, shape narratives of place, and contribute to heritage‑led and culturally‑driven transformation.
More details on the currently running programme, focusing on Heritage & Digital, and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, are available from the lead partner at the University of Staffordshire at https://blogs.staffs.ac.uk/createplace/
